Accessibility

Everyone should be able to see where their space went. We design the website and the app to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader and large text.

    Our target

    We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, which is the reference for the Americans with Disabilities Act, Ontario's AODA and the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549).

    • Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus ring and a skip-to-content link
    • Text and controls meet WCAG AA contrast in light and dark themes
    • Semantic headings, landmarks and labels for screen readers
    • Respects reduced-motion settings; no autoplaying media
    • Works at 200% zoom and on small screens

    The CleanPanda app

    • Keyboard shortcuts for every page, filter, Move to Trash and Undo
    • Charts pair every color with an icon or pattern and a label
    • Full paths can be read on demand by screen readers
    • Respects the system's reduced-motion setting

    Known limitations

    A complete VoiceOver review of the app is still to come. If any page does not work well with assistive technology, please tell us and we will fix it.
